Office for Public Sector Information launches



Her Majesty's Stationery Office gets a makeover as part of the EU's re-use of public sector information (PSI) directive



The newly launched Office of Public Sector Information (OPSI), which replaces Her Majesty's Stationery Office, aims to provide a practical framework of best practice for opening up and encouraging the re-use of public sector information.

OPSI will continue to provide a wide range of services to the public, information industry, government and the wider public sector relating to finding, using, sharing and trading information. Part of the Cabinet Office, OPSI has the lead for the UK implementation of the Re-use of Public Sector Information Regulations 2005 which comes into force on 1st July 2005.
